Hello Reader
Welcome!
I trust your past week has been positive with more wins than losses, and that you are growing more and more into the resilient, healthy person you were always meant to be . . .
"Your Rich Soul"
I want to share with you an interesting thought I've had these past few days.
I think there may be something worth pondering for each of us, and hopefully a unique take-away that all of us can apply to our own thinking and life.
I've been contemplating how often you are able to observe people who become wealthy, and then watching the choices they make with how they choose to enjoy their wealth.
If we ignore the 5-10% (estimate) who are super eccentric with their choices, and ignore the other 5-10% (estimate) who seem to be all about showing off with their choices, and just focus on the remaining majority . . .
It seems to me that the large majority of wealthy people spend their wealth on the following list of priorities (in no particular order);
- More time with family
- More time with friends
- Eliminating stress
- Creating more breathing space
- Travel
- Giving gifts to loved ones
- Adventure
- Experiences in nature
- Enjoyment of food
Of course, there is also generally some spending on luxury items such as houses, boats, cars, jewellery etc.
However, despite the obvious ability to live with greater purchasing power . . . it appears fair to say that much of their spending choices are centred around the same priorities that all of us would choose to focus on. (The main difference of course being that wealthy people are in a position of being able to do more of this more quickly)
Anyway, all of this anecdotal observation got me thinking "If being wealthy allows you to spend more time and energy on the very same things that people love when they're not wealthy, how many of us are missing out on living life with an enriched soul experience right now"
I wonder (even in a state of limited resources) if we can all (including me) invest more energy into the realisation that, at least some small measure of enjoying the items above is actually within the reach of all of us right now.
Sure, our expression of adventure may not be a 5 star hike to Kilimanjaro, but there might be some beautiful outdoor hikes near where we live (that are free to enjoy).
We might not be able to drive the coastline of the south of France in a vintage Ferrari, but maybe there is a peaceful drive close by that we can enjoy the same fresh air on our face.
Our resources may not ever allow us to fulfil our entire world travel bucket list, but maybe there are one or two places within our reach that can be made special because of the memories you make in that location with family and friends.
If we can learn to put aside (and I'm taking to myself here as well) the manufactured, temporary things from our love lens for a while, we might be able to re-discover that the life we long for is more within our reach (in small measure) than we first believed . . .
- Family
- Friends
- Food
- Nature
- Adventure
- Sunlight
- Fresh air
- Making memories
- Walking away from trouble
What manner of a wonderful life this is meant to be for us all. :)
If we could take mini steps towards this thinking and this kind of living, I'm sure our soul would thank us for it.
Is it possible that we truly can experience life with an enriched soul now?
Enjoy your own pondering when you have a moment . . .
